Evgeny Rumyantsev – Violoncello

Evgeny Rumyantsev graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, where he studied with Professor Natalie Shakhovskaya. He is the only cellist in the history who was honoured to become an assistant of Nathalie Shakhovskaya and today he leads his own class at the Moscow Conservatory.

Не is a prize winner of the 2007 Tchaikovsky International Competition and а winner of the 2010 Khachaturian International Cello Competition. Having an active concert schedule, he had performed all around Russia, Europe, Asia and Africa.
During his studies, he had master classes with Mstislav Rostropovich, David Geringas, Eberhard Feltz and Sergey Roldugin. Evgeny was a grant holder of the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation (the Nikolai Myaskovsky grant), the Russian Performing Art Foundation and the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation. Evgeny teaches at the Moscow Conservatory since 2010, gives master classes and has been in a jury for some international competitions.

He also plays viola da gamba and electric guitar and has been participated in theatrical performances. Evgeny is a member of the Association of the Tchaikovsky Competition Stars and the International Union of Music Workers. He has releases on Melodiya, Fancy music and Quartz music labels, as long as numerous performances on TV and radio.
